Terms of use

Last updated: · Codeo Solutions Limited

The German version (Nutzungsbedingungen) is the original; this English version is provided for convenience.

1. Provider and scope

These terms apply to the use of the Fahrtenbuch app and its account. The provider is Codeo Solutions Limited, Gallants Farm, Gallants Lane, East Farleigh, Maidstone ME15 0LF, United Kingdom, email info@codeo.com.tr (“we”). Fahrtenbuch is not directed at children under 16.

Downloading the app is also subject to the terms of the App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or its support.

2. What Fahrtenbuch does

Fahrtenbuch is a tool for recording trips, classifying them as business, private or commute, logging receipts and creating reports as PDF or CSV. The app stores your logbook in your account on our server and syncs it between your phones. You need an account to use it. Using it is free of charge. The app can show ads; an optional one-time in-app purchase through Apple or Google removes them.

3. No tax advice

Fahrtenbuch creates reports from the details you record in the app, but it does not give tax or legal advice. Whether your logbook is accepted for tax purposes is decided by the tax office in each case. We recommend checking your use of the app with your tax advisor.

The tax helpers in the app (for example the comparison of the 1% rule and the logbook, travel costs, charging and the commuting allowance) are estimates from your entries and from rates as of the date shown in the app. They are not tax advice and not a binding calculation. Rates and rules can change, and not every individual case is covered. Check the results with your tax advisor before you rely on them.

4. Your account

You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with your email address and a one-time code. Keep access to your mailbox and your phone protected; anyone with access to them can sign in to Fahrtenbuch.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the service running smoothly but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, for example because of maintenance or disruptions outside our control. The app records trips even without an internet connection and syncs them with your account later. We keep developing Fahrtenbuch and may change features. If we discontinue the service, we will announce it in the app or by email in good time so that you can export your data.

7. Licence

We grant you a simple, non-transferable right to use the app for your own purposes. Your entries belong to you. We use your data only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under product liability law, and where we have given a guarantee.

For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations, meaning obligations whose fulfilment makes proper use of the app possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely (cardinal obligations). In that case our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract.

Otherwise liability is excluded. Fahrtenbuch is provided free of charge and as is, within the limits of these terms. Mandatory statutory rights, in particular as a consumer, remain unaffected.

9. Termination

You can stop using Fahrtenbuch at any time by deleting your account in the app under Settings → Delete account, or by asking for deletion by email (see Delete account); export your monthly reports first (see section 5). We may suspend or terminate your account for good cause, in particular for serious breaches of section 5, and with reasonable notice if we discontinue the service.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will tell you beforehand in the app or by email. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the app at any time (see section 9).

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you have your habitual residence remain unaffected, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

12. Final provisions

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Questions about these terms go to info@codeo.com.tr.
